Just a thought. Would it be useful to video sessions like the post-production one and stick it up on the interweb?

While it is flattering that anyone would want to experience my ramblings from Wednesday again, there is considerably more to producing a video than simply setting up a camera and microphone. In respect of other speakers, there is also the matter of copyright. It takes time and effort to put a decent presentation together and most lecturers charge a fee for their services. I doubt if many would welcome the introduction of a camera, especially if they are uncertain about the quality of the output.

In respect of my own talk, I would seriously question whether the world needs such a video. Lightroom and Photoshop are well understood applications and nothing I said provided a unique insight. The Internet is already chock full of professionally produced videos, including many from Adobe itself. Try the links below for Adobe's own offerings:

Thanks for the link to Adobe TV's site.

I note that much of the programming is for LightRoom 5. I know that a lot of LR 5 is in LRCC but I would have hoped that Adobe might at least have updated it's videos for LRCC users (even if it only renamed the files!).

In the past, Adobe TV has been a useful resource. I wrote yesterday's post quickly in the short interval I had before getting ready to go out and assumed that Adobe would have kept things up to date. It turns out that it is something which the company has let slide, as I discovered later when I had a bit more time to check. Which is a pity, as the people who made those videos really knew their stuff. As will be obvious, though, I have not been there in a while. If I am typical of most users, maybe that is why Adobe no longer bothers?

While I cannot personally vouch for this site (link below), The Lightroom Queen has been around for a good few years. Longevity being one of the primary indicators for how others assess its content. It is certainly worth looking at, especially as the site offers free guides to help people get started and avoid some common issues.
